Wildcats Earn NFHCA Academic Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. - Eleven members of the Northwestern field hockey program have been honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) by being named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
To qualify for selection to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, a student-athlete must have compiled a GPA of at least 3.30 during the first academic period of the 2012-13 school year.
In addition, Chelsea Armstrong and Maria Kovalchuk were recognized as Scholars of Distinction for having achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
Northwestern was honored with the National Academic Team Award. The honor is bestowed upon each team that achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
