Parsley, Puffenberger Earn All-America Recognition

2013 Longstreth/NFHCA All-America Teams
EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern seniors Nikki Parsley (Milford, Del./Milford) and Tara Puffenberger (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) have been named to the 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA All-America Teams for their efforts during the past season.
Parsley earned the first All-America recognition of her career, being named to the second team, while Puffenberger was selected to the third team for the second consecutive year.
A first-team All-West Region selection for the third straight season, Parsley paced the Wildcats with 13 goals and 29 points in 2013. She recorded a pair of multi-goal games: at Kent State (Oct. 6) and at Indiana (Oct. 18). The midfielder also helped NU rank fourth nationally with a 1.13 goals-against average.
Puffenberger was a dynamic presence on the attack for Northwestern. She notched seven goals to rank second on the team while also ranking third with six assists for 20 points. She posted two goals in a Senior Day win over Ohio State (Nov. 1) and ranked fourth in the conference with 75 shots.
The duo helped Northwestern to a 15-5 record in 2013, including a 5-1 mark in Big Ten play to help the Wildcats earn a share of their first conference title since 1994. NU reached as high as No. 10 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA national rankings.
