This is the first NAC of the academic year for the Wildcats and the first time that they will be competing outside of Evanston. NU has already hosted the USFA Burton Open and the USFA Remenyik Open, in addition to the NU Duals, this fall.
Northwestern will send about 25 fencers to the Cleveland Convention Center to compete between Friday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 10.
The first group of 'Cats to hit the strips will be the foilists. The Division I women's foil competition begins bright and early at 7:30 a.m. Friday. Led by squad captain Mary Spohn, a total of 10 NU fencers will be in action throughout the first day of competition.
The Division I women's epée event will commence at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Cleveland native and returning All-American Courtney Dumas and Northwestern's lone senior, Dina Bazarbayeva, will lead a group of seven onto the strips.
The final group of Wildcats, the sabre squad, will first compete beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. Sophomore captain Cara Franke and freshman Alisha Shah-Gomez will be among those in action Sunday for Northwestern.
