EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 13 Northwestern closes out a month-long road trip as it travels to Michigan State on Saturday before heading to Central Michigan on Sunday.
Saturday's contest gets underway at noon Central time, while Sunday's matchup is slated for 11 a.m. CT. The games are NU's final regular-season road contests of the 2013 regular season. The 'Cats will close out their regular season at home against Ohio State next Friday.
The Wildcats haven't played a home game during the month of October and this weekend's two matches are the fifth and sixth consecutive on the road for Northwestern.
The 'Cats split a pair of road matches last weekend, notching a 2-0 win at Indiana on Friday behind two goals by senior Nikki Parsley, who raised her team-leading total to 12. NU allowed just two shots by the Hoosiers in the entire contest.
Northwestern was then edged by No. 17 Louisville on Sunday, falling 2-0.
Saturday's match at Michigan State features two teams that could still earn a share of the Big Ten regular-season title. Both squads are one game behind Penn State in the conference standings. The Nittany Lions clinched at least a share of the conference crown Friday with a 2-1 win at Iowa.
Northwestern has been led by a strong defense that leads the Big Ten and ranks fifth nationally with a 1.16 goals-against average.
