Wildcats Ranked Seventh in CollegeFencing360 Coaches Poll

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern checks in at No. 7 in the inaugural CollegeFencing360.com Coaches poll of the season, the web site announced Tuesday.

The Wildcats are up one spot from where they finished in the final 2012 poll. Northwestern is slated to face five top-10 teams this coming weekend in Philadelphia and New York City. On Saturday, Jan. 26, the 'Cats will see the hosts, No. 9 Temple, and No. 10 Penn at the Philadelphia Invitational.

The following day Northwestern will square off against No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Columbia and No. 4 Ohio State at the NYU Invitational. Three other teams that are also receiving votes - Cornell, Yale and Sacred Heart - are also on the docket for the weekend.

Also receiving votes: Duke, Cornell, Brown, Stanford, Yale, North Carolina, Sacred Heart, MIT, Boston College, Stevens Tech, UC San Diego and Johns Hopkins.
