Bryan National Collegiate Round Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

GREENSBORO, N.C.– Northwestern continued action at the Bryan National Collegiate Saturday in Greensboro, N.C. The 'Cats shot a 17-over 305 in the second round, putting them in eighth place with a two-round total of 19-over 595 (290 in round one). Just five strokes separate third-place North Carolina from NU as the Tar Heels have a 14-over 590. Ohio State (fourth, 15-over 195), South Carolina (fifth, 16-over 592), Duke (sixth, 17-over 593) and Wake Forest (seventh, 18-over 594) are narrowly ahead of Northwestern in the team race.

NU, who is ranked No. 44 in the latest Golfweek Women's Rankings, still holds a seven-stroke lead on No. 25 Virginia and No. 33 Tulane (both tied for ninth at 602) and is 10 strokes ahead of No. 21 North Carolina State (11th place, 605). Tennessee currently leads the 17-team field at 8-over 584 (293-291).

Senior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) had the best round of the day for Northwestern, shooting a 2-over 74. Lederhausen started strong on the front nine with birdies on holes four and eight to finish the first half of the round at 1-under. She had three bogeys on the back nine but still finished 2-over for the round, an eight-stroke improvement over her first-round score of 80. She is currently tied for 49th at 10-over 154.

The trio of freshmen Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson) Brittany Mai (Poway, Calif./Poway) and sophomore Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) had the same first-round score of 1-over 73 and Saturday, they again stayed on pace with one another shooting a 5-over 77. The trio combined for five birdies, including an NU-best for the round three by Lee (holes five, 13 and 14). The group leads Northwestern in the individual standings as they are all tied for 28th with a 6-over 150 through 36 holes.

Junior Lauren Weaver's (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) streak of four-straight rounds under par came to an end Saturday as she finished with an 8-over 80. After posting a 1-under 71 in yesterday's first 18 holes, she is currently 7-over through two rounds (151) and tied for 34th.

Northwestern begins the third and final round of the Bryan National Collegiate tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. CT.
