EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern senior Alex Frank (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) has been named the Defender of the Week in the American Lacrosse Conference after helping the Wildcats erase a four-goal deficit against No. 14 Ohio State Saturday at Gillette Stadium.
Playing only a short drive from her native Westwood, Mass., Frank worked relentlessly on defense to help NU regain possession during its comeback from an 11-7 second-half deficit. Frank finished with four caused turnovers, three ground balls and three draw controls in the win.
The All-American senior is now tied for second all-time at NU with 87 caused turnovers, ranks fifth with 188 draw controls and stands one ground ball shy of 100 for her career. She paces all Northwestern players with 16 caused turnovers this season.
Frank and the undefeated Wildcats (10-0) remain on the road this weekend, traveling to face No. 11 Penn State and No. 8 Penn on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
