PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Freshman Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson), sophomore Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) and junior Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) were tabbed as Big Ten Golfers to Watch for the 2011-12 season, the conference announced Wednesday.
Weaver is one of three players to finish the 2010-11 season with first-team All-Big Ten honors and be selected as this year's golfer's to watch. She finished her sophomore season with a program-best 74.49 average, including a program-record round of 66 and 54-hole score of 208 in the 2010 Lady Northern.
Brown makes the list following a stellar freshman campaign, competing in all 12 events and finishing third for Northwestern with a 76.95 scoring average. Lee's conference recognition solidifies her much-anticipated arrival, along with fellow classmates Brittany Mai and Katie Wooliver.
The Big Ten women's golf season officially begins this weekend, as nine of the 12 conference teams take to the course for the first time of the fall season. Northwestern will begin with the Dale McNamara Invitational in Tulsa, Okla., on Sept. 12-14.
