EVANSTON, Ill. - After playing the first two tournaments of the season on the road, Northwestern hosts the fourth annual Windy City Collegiate Championship Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, at the Glen View Club. Northwestern is one of 15 teams competing on the 6,333-yard, par-72 course located at 100 Golf Road in Golf, Ill.

"We are thrilled to be hosting the Windy City Collegiate Classic at the Glen View Club," Northwestern head coach Emily Fletcher said. "Glen View Club has been a long time supporter of Wildcat Golf and now it is fitting for them to host our event.  We have secured a very strong field and will be welcoming some of the top collegiate players in the country.

"The volunteers, GVC members and boosters partnering with us make this one of the premier events in women's golf and we are so grateful for their support."

The format of this year's tournament is a 54-hole, 5-count-4, with the opening two rounds scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3, and the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Players will be grouped in threesomes with a staggered start from holes one and 10, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning. Round two is scheduled to begin at approximately 11:45 a.m. Monday afternoon with Tuesday's final round getting underway at 7:30 a.m.

Admission to the 2011 Windy City Collegiate Championship is FREE both days for fans. For those that can't make it out to the tournament, live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.

The Wildcats host an incredibly strong field at the Windy City Collegiate Championship with 11 of the 15 teams (including Northwestern) ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfweek Sagarin rankings. Ranked teams include No. 1 Texas, No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Texas Tech, No. 19 UC Davis, No. 21 Northwestern, No. 30 Iowa State, No. 32 TCU, No. 38 Tulsa, No. 43 New Mexico, No. 44 Arizona and No. 48 Ohio State. Kent State, Purdue, UNC Wilmington and Wake Forest round out the field.

Northwestern opened the 2011-12 season with two top-five finishes, most recently placing fourth out of 18 teams at the 32nd annual Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational. Senior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) is the reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Week after tying for fourth at the Invitational. Lederhausen finished on par at 219 and improved one stroke each round (74-73-72). Two other Wildcats placed in the top 20, including sophomore Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) who tied for ninth and junior Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows), who tied for 12th.
