EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern women's head golf coach Emily Fletcher announced today the addition of Katie Wooliver (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) to the 2011 recruiting class.
"We are thrilled have Katie joining our Wildcat golf family," said Fletcher. "She possesses all the qualities we value and I know she will be a terrific representative of our program and our University. Her overall athleticism is impressive and it is showing up in how quickly her golf game is improving. Katie is a natural leader and I look for her to bring an important energy and work ethic to our program.""
Wooliver led her St. Ursula Academy golf team to the Ohio state tournament the past two seasons, notched top-15 finishes in those state events. In addition to golf, Katie has been a standout basketball player for Saint Ursula, lettering all four seasons.
Katie rounds out the Northwestern class of 2015 as she will join Hana Lee (Hacienda Heights, Calif./Wilson) and Brittany Mai (Poway, Calif./Poway) on campus in the fall.
Northwestern resumes its 2010-11 season next weekend as the Wildcats travel to sunny Puerto Rico, taking place in the Lady Puerto Rico in Rio Mar Feb. 13 through 15. NU is coming off a successful fall season in which it placed among the top-10 in three of its five events, including a runner-up finish at the Lady Northern on Oct. 12.
