EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern, fresh off its sixth-place tie at the challenging Lady Puerto Rico earlier this week, heads to central Florida to compete in the 2011 Central District Invitational, hosted by Michigan State. The Wildcats, ranked 44th in this week's Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, head to Parrish, Fla., seeking their fifth top-10 finish of the season.

As was the case earlier this week, Northwestern will face another challenging field comprised of seven top-30 schools, including fourth-ranked LSU, 12th-ranked Arkansas and the 19th-ranked host Spartans. The Big Ten will once again be well represented, sending six teams to the Central District Invitational (Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State) with four teams competing for the Big XII (Baylor, Iowa State, Missouri, Texas A&M). The Tigers and Razorbacks represent the SEC with the Big East (Notre Dame), MAC (Kent State) and Mountain West (TCU) rounding out the 15-team field.

Northwestern will field the same five players from the Lady Puerto Rico, led by sophomore Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) who finished tied for fourth with a 2-over 218. Seniors Rebecca Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) and Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy), junior Alex Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) and freshman Devon Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) will round out the Wildcat scorecard.

The Wildcats will be making their ninth appearance at the Central District Invitational in the past 10 years, winning the tournament in 2001 and posting four top-10 finishes during that span. Last season Northwestern placed 11th, led by junior Kylie Fuller's (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) 10-over 226. Weaver finished second for the Wildcats with a 15-over 231.

Monday's first and second rounds will have a traditional tee time, with Tuesday's final round beginning with a shotgun start. Live scoring of the event will be available at Golfstat.com.
