2011 Northwestern Lacrosse Season Tickets On Sale Now!

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Season tickets for the 2011 Northwestern lacrosse season are now on sale. The Wildcats have seven home dates at beautiful Lakeside Field this spring, including four games against 2010 NCAA tournament teams and a pair of American Lacrosse Conference matches.

"Our fans have been such a key component of our success the past few seasons, and our girls love playing in front of a full house," said head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. "We've led the nation in attendance for the past two seasons, and our goal for this year is to have even more fans in the stands cheering on our girls. We have some of the top teams in the country coming to Lakeside Field this year, so we are looking forward to another great season of lacrosse."

Northwestern opens up its 2011 home slate against California at 3 p.m. on March 11 before hosting Syracuse under the lights on March 23. The Orange was a final four team in 2010, falling to Maryland in the semifinals, and should be one of the top contenders for the Big East title this season.

The Wildcats then host Duke on April 2 in a rematch of last year's NCAA quarterfinal showdown before welcoming ALC rival Penn State to Evanston for a 7 p.m. opening draw on April 8. Northwestern then resumes its rivalry with Penn, another 2010 quarterfinalist, on April 10.

Northwestern closes out the 2011 home schedule with ALC opponent Ohio State on April 22, as the Buckeyes are entering their first season under the helm of former Wildcat assistant coach Alexis Venechanos. The regular season home finale will be against Stanford on April 24, another NCAA qualifier from 2010.

Thanks to the support of Northwestern's passionate fan base, the Wildcats have led the nation in attendance for the past two seasons, averaging just under 1,000 fans per home game in 2010.

The Wildcats set an NCAA record by winning 58 consecutive home games from 2004 through 2010 and each of the Wildcats' 2010 home games were televised either live or on tape delay by the Big Ten Network last year, adding to an already electric gameday atmosphere.

Adult season tickets for the 2011 campaign are $40, with youth season tickets priced at $25 for fans 18 and younger. A Family Plan is also available for $80, which admits two adults and three children to all seven Northwestern home games.

Season tickets can be purchased by contacting the Northwestern ticket office at 888-GO-PURPLE or clicking the ticket link at NUsports.com.
