EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller, the 2011 IWLCA National Lacrosse Coach of the Year, has been named a speaker at the U.S. Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion. She will join roughly 150 of lacrosse's top coaches, officials, trainers and administrators as presenters at the sport's largest educational and networking event, Jan. 13-15, 2012, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

"We've targeted leaders in lacrosse who are passionate about developing the game by sharing their knowledge with coaches and officials at the youth and high school levels," said Beth Porreca, director of events at US Lacrosse.

Amonte Hiller, who has guided the Wildcats to six NCAA championships in the last seven years, will host "Drills for Competitive Success" at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 13. Amonte Hiller has coached Northwestern to a 162-10 overall record since 2004 and won eight American Lacrosse Conference titles. She has coached the nation's Tewaaraton Award winner in six seasons and has coached 37 IWLCA All-Americans. Amonte Hiller was named the Lacrosse Magazine Person of the Year in 2008.

Lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators can register for the convention online at the U.S. Lacrosse website before Dec. 28 for $105, a savings of $45 on the walk-up price. Registration includes pre-event access to speaker materials and post-event access to video of all convention presentations (a $300 value). Herm Edwards, a nine-year defensive back with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and later the head coach of the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, will deliver the keynote address at 7 p.m. on Jan. 13.

The U.S. Lacrosse National Convention annually draws more than 5,000 participants for approximately 150 educational sessions. The U.S. Lacrosse Fan Fest is a portion of the convention open to the general public, with tickets available on-site at the convention center. General admission is $10 and just $5 for lacrosse players wearing team jerseys. Children 6 and under will be admitted free to Fan Fest, which runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 14. Fan Fest will feature demonstrations and autographs by players from the U.S. National Teams and the Philadelphia Wings and will include nearly 150 lacrosse equipment and apparel vendors.
