EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern lacrosse has released its 2010 fall ball schedule, which once again will give the Wildcats a first-hand look at some of the nation's top programs. The 'Cats face four NCAA tournament teams from last season with three home dates providing an opportunity for fans to get a sneak peek of the 2011 Wildcats at Lakeside Field.

"The girls are back on campus and we're really excited as we look ahead towards our fall ball schedule," said head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. "A majority of our 2010 team is back, and we are excited to welcome this new, talented Wildcat freshman class. I'm eager to see how the players gel and play together in this challenging schedule."

Two home dates start off Northwestern's fall ball slate, beginning with the Northwestern Play Day on Saturday, October 2. The Wildcats take on Detroit Mercy at 12:30, followed by a game with the Chicago All-Stars at 3:25. NU then hosts Midwest rival and NCAA first round opponent Notre Dame at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.

With the large number of players on the Wildcat roster from Westwood, Mass., it is only fitting that Northwestern travels to the Boston suburb for a number of games on their old high school field. The 'Cats take on Boston College at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, before taking part in another play day on Saturday, Oct. 16. NU opens up the day against New Hampshire at 8:00 a.m. before taking on Massachusetts at 9:15 a.m. and Boston University at 10:30 a.m.

Northwestern then heads down the road to Princeton, N.J., to take part in the always competitive Princeton Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 17. The Wildcats will play in four contests that day, beginning with a semifinal rematch against North Carolina at 9:35 a.m. NU then faces Syracuse, another of last year's Final Four participants, at 10:45 a.m. before taking on rival Penn at 12:30 p.m. The Wildcats then close out the day against the host Tigers at 1:40 p.m.

The final event of the fall season is always one of the most memorable as the current Wildcats face off against some of their former teammates in the Alumni Game during Homecoming weekend. This year's game will take place at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, under the lights at Lakeside Field.
