BERLIN, Germany -- Northwestern sophomore Felicitas Lenz (Altadena, Calif./Polytechnic School) recently wrapped up a successful trip to Germany where she made the finals in a pair of events at the Senior German Nationals.
Lenz secured fourth place in both the 1-meter springboard and 10-meter platform events, achieving a career-best score on the platform. Lenz was born in Tübingen, Germany, before moving with her family to California.
"I was very happy with my performance and my personal best from the platform," Lenz said. "After the competition, the National Team coach talked to me about my opportunities to represent Germany in national and international competitions in the future. I am extremely excited about this opportunity!"
Lenz was Northwestern's top diver as a freshman in 2009-10, scoring points in all three diving events at the Big Ten Championships and finishing fifth on the platform at the NCAA Zone 'C' meet. She was a two-time Big Ten Diver of the Week. Her younger sister, Cosima, will be a freshman at NU in the fall of 2010.
