2010 Bryan National Collegiate Round One Results
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- It was a challenging opening round for Northwestern at the 2010 Bryan National Collegiate as the Wildcats shoot a 21-over 309 and currently sit in 16th after the first 18 holes. NU enters round two one shot back of 15th-place Louisville and three strokes behind Arkansas, LSU and UNC Greensboro who are all log-jammed in 12th-place.
Junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) and freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) paced the Wildcats through the opening 18 holes at the Bryan Park Course as the duo both compiled a 4-over 76 in round one. Both golfers were solid on the back nine with Weaver posting an even-par 36 and Lindenschmidt shooting a 1-over 37.
Sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central) finished a shot back on the Wildcat scorecard with a 5-over 77. Freshman Anne Ormson (Granger, Ind./St. Joseph's) posted an 8-over 80 in the first collegiate tournament of her Northwestern career while sophomore Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) rounded out the scoring with a 12-over 84.
Competing an extremely competitive 18-team field, including nine teams ranked among the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, the Wildcats find themselves still in the hunt of their sixth top-10 finish of the season. Northwestern enters Saturday's second round six shots back of 10th-place Auburn and trails 11th-place Virginia by five shots.
Tennessee currently leads the field with a 1-under 288, leading second-place Wake Forest by two shots. Florida State and Vanderbilt are tied for third at 3-over 291 with Big Ten rival Ohio State (4-over 292) checking in at fifth.
Saturday's second round gets underway at 7:20 a.m. CT, with Northwestern among the first three groups teeing off and starting play on the 10th hole. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
