2010 Central District Invitational Round Two Results

PARRISH, Fla. -- Freshman Lauren Weaver (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) shot a pair of 3-over 75s to lead Northwestern through the opening two rounds of the 2010 Central District Invitational. Weaver is tied for 17th overall as the Wildcats sit in 12th-place with a 36-over 612.

Competing against arguably the toughest field of the season, Northwestern opened up the tournament with a 14-over 302 through the opening 36 holes, led by a 1-over 73 performance by sophomore Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Central). She finished two strokes better than both Weaver and fellow sophomore Kylie Fuller's (Temecula, Calif./Chapparal) 3-over 75.

Scores for the second round were higher nearly across the board as Northwestern posted a 22-over 310 in the afternoon round. Weaver's 3-over 75 led the Wildcats as she finished two shots better than Fuller and junior Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) over the second 18 holes.

Weaver leads Fuller (8-over 152) by two strokes on the Northwestern leaderboard, with both Lederhausen and Lindenschmidt tied for third at 12-over 156. Junior Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) rounds out the 'Cat competitors with a 19-over 163.

Northwestern heads into Tuesday's final round two strokes back of South Carolina for 11th-place and five shots behind Big Ten rival Michigan State in 10th. Florida is running away with the tournament, posting a 5-under 571 in the opening two rounds and leads second-place TCU (15-over 591) by 20 strokes. Arkansas (20-over 596), LSU (22-over 598) and Purdue (22-over 598) round out the top-five.

Tuesday's final round at the River Wilderness Country Club gets underway wih a shotgun start at 7 a.m. CT with Northwestern teeing off on holes 11-14. Live stats of the final 18 holes will be available at GolfStat.com
