TEAM NOTES
• This was the 14th all-time meeting between the two schools, and the seventh meeting at Beaver Stadium.
• Northwestern's road winning streak was halted at six games, one shy of tying the school mark that was set from 1929-31. Northwestern, now 11-4 in its last 15 road contests, has still won a Big Ten-best 11 road games dating to the start of the 2008 season. Northwestern's 11 road wins since 2008 leads all Big Ten programs.
• NU entered the month of November having compiled a 6-1 record in this month the past two years. Three of those wins came over ranked teams. Pat Fitzgerald-coached teams are now 9-5 all-time in November.
• Northwestern has now scored in double figures in 43 straight games.
• For the eighth time in nine games this season, Northwestern got on the scoreboard first. The Wildcats tallied a touchdown on the game's opening series to take a 7-0 lead.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• QB Dan Persa rushed for a career-high 109 yards and two touchdowns. Persa, NU's leading rusher this season with 469 yards, now has eight rushing TD's on the season, three shy of NU's single-season rushing TD mark by a quarterback (held by Zak Kustok with 11 in 2001). Persa became the second Wildcat in as many weeks to run for 100-plus yards in a game after NU went 20 straight games without a 100-yard rusher.
• Persa completed 16-of-25 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown.
• SB Drake Dunsmore caught his fourth TD pass of the season late in the first half, making a spectacular one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. That score put the Wildcats up 21-0, the largest lead they've ever held at Beaver Stadium.
• LB Nate Williams and S Brian Peters led Northwestern's defense with 11 tackles apiece. Williams recorded two tackles for loss, including a 10-yard pass sack.
• WR Jeremy Ebert caught a 41-yard pass in the second quarter, his longest grab of the game. That is his 12th catch of 20 or more yards this season. Ebert finished the game with six catches for 111 yards, his third 100-yard game of the season. It was Ebert's fifth game of the season with 98 or more receiving yards.
