EVANSTON, Ill. -
Fresh off its second appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals in the last three years, the Northwestern men's soccer team has set its spring schedule.
The Wildcats, who already have a 2-0 win over UIC on April 4 to their credit, are set to have five more days of action during their non-traditional season.
The slate is highlighted by a rematch between NU and Notre Dame at Lakeside Field Saturday, April 18. The 'Cats rallied to earn a 2-1 victory over the 12th-seeded Fighting Irish in the second round of last year's NCAA tournament.
Northwestern returns to action the following Sunday, April 26, as it hosts a pair of Division II teams in Missouri University of Science and Technology and UW-Parkside.
Following a home game against DePaul Friday, May 1, NU hosts its annual alumni soccer festival and benefit auction on May 2. This year's benefit is being held at the Firehouse Grill in Evanston from 7 p.m. until midnight and features a number of great items up for bid, including out-of-town sports weekend packages, sports memorabilia and numerous entertainment and dining options. Admission to the event is $50. For more information, please contact assistant coach Andy Fleming at 847-491-9998 or andrew-fleming@northwestern.edu.
The spring slate concludes Sunday, May 3 as Northwestern squares off against Major League Soccer foe Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.
