COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Four Wildcats posted top-20 finishes, led by sophomore Rebecca Lederhausen's (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) season-best ninth-place finish, as Northwestern captured a season-best fourth-place showing at the 29th annual Lady Buckeye Invitational. The Wildcats shoot a 28-over 316 over the final 18 holes, finishing at 51-over 915 (299-300-316), four shots better than Big Ten opponent Indiana.

Lederhausen put together an 8-over 80 over the final round, giving her a 54-hole total of 11-over 227 (73-74-80) and earning the sophomore her first top-10 finish since placing eighth at the 2007 Challenge at Wolfdancer. She edged out senior Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), as Hong finished one stroke back at 12-over 228 (74-75-79), good enough for a tie for 11th-place. It is the third time this season Hong has finished in the top 20 and the first since a fifth-place finish at the Mountain View Collegiate.

Freshman Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) recorded the second top-20 finish of her career, finishing a career-best 13th with a 13-over 229 (77-74-78). Sophomore Innapha Tantanavivat (Bangkok, Thailand/David Leadbetter Academy) entered the clubhouse in a tie for 20th-place at 16-over 232 (75-77-80), while sophomore Kelsey Lindenschmidt (West Chester, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) rounded out the scorecard with a 24-over 240 (80-81-79).

Northwestern began the day in second place, but strong final rounds by both Kent State and Washington bumped the 'Cats back to fourth. Host Ohio State took home the team championship, shooting a 21-over 895. The Buckeyes edged out Kent State by 10 strokes, and held a 16-shot advantage over the third place Huskies.

The Wildcats now prepare for the 2009 Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, Ind. Hosted by Purdue the 72-hole tournament gets underway Friday, April 24 and runs through Sunday, April 26.
