EVANSTON, Ill. --Nearly two months into her tenure as Northwestern head coach, Tracey Fuchs has announced her first Wildcat recruiting class, which is set to join NU in the fall. The five-member group is composed of players from two east-coast field hockey hotbeds in Maryland and New Jersey and also reaches across oceans to both England and Australia.
“We are really proud of this incoming class of freshman and what they will contribute to our program,” Fuchs said. “Our coaching staff did a phenomenal job of identifying elite-level players who are great fits for the athletic and academic culture we strive for at Northwestern, and they did so in a limited frame of time. We can't wait to welcome each of these players onto the team in August.”
This year's class consists of Chelsea Armstrong (Perth, Australia/University of Western Australia), Shannon Disbrow (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill High School), Colleen Petronchak (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern), Beth Warner (West Sussex, England/Seaford College) and Amanda Wirth (Pittsgrove, New Jersey/Schalick).
