CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- After getting rained out in their first attempt, Northwestern and eighth-ranked North Carolina will give it another go Monday, March 2, at 1 p.m. With no weekend option available throughout the season, the two teams decided to brave the expected winter storm conditions and try and get the game in Monday afternoon.

The game will be played at UNC's Francis Henry Stadium, the field hockey turf field which is located just south of Fetzer Field. The Chapel Hill area is blanketed by a couple inches of snow which came in overnight, and the forecast for today calls for partly cloudy skies and windy with temperatures in the low 30s. The game will start from scratch, as according to the NCAA rule book, "if a suspended game (one in which less than 80 percent of playing time has elapsed) is replayed on another day, it must be played from the beginning." UNC held a 4-2 lead with 19:35 remaining in the first half when the game was called Sunday.
