Mosolova Loses Two-Set Match at All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Northwestern junior Maria Mosolova stumbled in her opening-round match in the main draw bracket of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif. Mosolova lost a 6-3, 6-1 decision to No. 27 Caitlin Whoriskey of Tennessee.
Mosolova, the tournament's top overall seed, now moves into the consolation bracket where on Friday she will face the winner of a match between USC's Alison Ramos and Tennessee's Natalie Pluskota. A two-time singles All-American, Mosolova now owns an 80-15 career singles record over her three-plus years at Northwestern.
