CHICAGO, Ill. -- Northwestern freshman Audrey Huth paced the Wildcats for the second consecutive meet on Saturday as she placed 13th overall at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola (Chicago). Huth finished the 5K event in 18:26 while sophomore Hallie Busta was second for NU and 26th overall in 18:46.
As a team, Northwestern placed fifth out of the 34-team field with 175 points, just five points out of fourth place. Wichita State claimed the women's team title with 67 points.
Senior Paulina Garcia remained a steady contributor for Northwestern with time of 18:57--just off her career-best cross country 5K time of 18:51--and finished 32nd out of the more than 370 runners that competed.
Freshmen Allegra Mayer (18:59) and Moira Ryan (19:32) were Northwestern's next two scorers in 37th and 73rd places, respectively. A pair of sophomores in Rachel Edwards (19:47) and Abby Tracy (19:52) rounded out the Wildcats' top seven at this year's Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, which took place near Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
Northwestern's next meet is the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill., on Friday, Oct. 16.
