Northwestern Announces 2008 Midwest Spring League Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head coach Kelly McCollum announced NU's 2008 Midwest Spring League schedule Wednesday. The spring league is certain to be great training for the Wildcats as they prepare for the upcoming 2008 season.
The league consists of Big Ten rivals, Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan, along with several programs from the MAC Conference and others. The Wildcats kick-off their spring season this Saturday, April 5, at Lakeside Field. A complete listing of the 2008 Midwest Spring League schedule can be found below.
All games taking place at Northwestern this weekend will run as a full game, slated for 70 minutes in length. All other games will be reduced to 50 minutes in length.
In addition to the Midwest Spring League schedule, the Wildcats will host their annual Northwestern Field Hockey Alumni Game at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Lakeside Field. This event occurs in conjunction with the Women's Sport Reunion Weekend, which is being hosted by the Northwestern University Athletics Department.

Saturday, April 12 at Miami, Ohio
Northwestern vs. Central Michigan - 10:15 a.m.
Northwestern vs. Miami - 12:45 p.m.
Northwestern vs. Michigan State - 2 p.m.
Sunday, April 13 at Columbus, Ohio
Northwestern vs. Kent State - 8:30 a.m.
Northwestern vs. Miami (OH) - 2:15 p.m.
Saturday, April 19 at Evanston, Ill.
