EVANSTON, Ill.-- Junior Alison Bullock (Boyds, Md./Stone Ridge) scored three goals for Northwestern in its 5-2 victory over Ball State on Monday at Lakeside Field.

In the opening minutes of the game, Ball State (1-4) took a 1-0 lead, but a penalty stroke by Amanda Care (Newtown, Pa./Pennsbury) tied the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute. Less than two minutes after Care's strike, Annie Bosslet (Granite City, Ill./Villa Duchesne (Mo.)) netted another goal for the 'Cats (3-1), which would turn out to be the game-winner.

Bullock then erupted follwoing halftime scoring a minute into the second frame, then again in the 55th minute and in the 59th minute to close out the 5-2 victory for NU.

For Care, it was the second goal scored in as many games. Before the contest against Northeastern, Care had not scored a goal since her freshman year. Bullock's goals meanwhile, equaled her career total as she put three into the back of the cage in her first two seasons combined.

Third-year forwards Jill Putnam (Greenfield, Mass./Greenfield) and Alex Quinn (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) and Bosslet all added assists on the game as well. Putnam assisted on Bosslet's goal, Quinn notched an assist on two of Bullock's three scores and Bosslet on the other.

Following its fourth-straight home contest, the Wildcats will hit the road to face Maine on Saturday.
