Northwestern's Announces 2007 Fall Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The three-time national champion Wildcat lacrosse team today announced its 2007 fall schedule, highlighted by the 2007 Princeton Tournament featuring some of the nation's elite programs.

The season begins with the annual alumni game on Friday, Sept. 28 at the FieldTurf practice facility adjacent to Ryan Field. A home date with Louisville, who begins varsity competition for the first time in 2008, will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the new Lakeside Field.

The Wildcats then hit the road for the remainder of the schedule, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Notre Dame before heading to Princeton, N.J. on Oct. 20 for the 2007 Princeton Tournament. The tournament features five NCAA Tournament teams from last season in Northwestern, North Carolina, Syracuse, Penn and Princeton. The Wildcats will face all four teams once during the day, with games running 35 minutes each with no timeouts.

The season wraps up the following day in a re-match of last year's NCAA title game with Virginia. The game will be played at St. Paul's School for Girls in Baltimore.

Princeton Tournament Information:

  • This year's tournament will take place in Class of 1952 Stadium an Astroturf surface.
  • Games are 35 minutes long, running clock. No halftime, no timeouts.
  • There is plenty of space in the parking lot and within the stadium for a tailgate lunch during the day. Post-event tailgates are only permissible outside the stadium gates.
