EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior midfielder Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) was named the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC) Player of the Week by the conference office for the week of February 26.

Kjellman recorded eight points on a season-high six goals and two assists as the Wildcats upped their record to 2-1 with an 18-10 win over No. 5 Notre Dame last Thursday in South Bend, Ind. Kjellman keyed a 6-1 scoring run late in the first half to help the Wildcats to a 12-4 halftime lead -- scoring three goals in that span. She also added three draw controls and two ground balls.

Through three games, Kjellman leads the team with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists.

Northwestern, winner of the last two national championships, has won its last two games and has played three consecutive games against ranked opponents to open the season.
