Wildcats Take No. 7 Seed Into Big Ten Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern will enter the 2007 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament as the No. 7 seed and will face second-seeded Purdue in a first round match at 5 p.m. Thursday evening. This year's tournament will be held in Minneapolis, Minn., and will be hosted by Minnesota.
NU and Purdue play in the first game of the evening session. In the other quarterfinal matches, No. 1 seed Penn State takes on No. 8 Iowa at 11 a.m., No. 4 Indiana takes on No. 5 Ohio State at 2 p.m. and No. 3 Illinois faces host and sixth-seeded Minnesota at 8 p.m.
The winner of the Northwestern-Purdue match faces the winner of the Illinois-Minnesota game at 8 p.m. Friday. The championship match is slated for a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
The semifinals of the Women's Soccer Tournament will be played later Friday night at 5 and 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast by the Big Ten Network on a tape delay basis early Saturday morning at midnight and 2 a.m. CT.
The women's semifinals will also re-air on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 7 and 9 a.m. CT. Live coverage of the title game will be provided by the Big Ten Network on either a regional basis or alternate channels. CSTV will also carry the women's championship on a tape-delay basis at 5 p.m. CT.
