Wildcats Face Wisconsin in Opening Round of Big Ten Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. -
Northwestern will enter the 2007 Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded Wisconsin in an opening round game at 8 a.m. Central time Thursday morning. This year's tournament will be held in East Lansing, Mich., and will be hosted by Michigan State University.
The Wildcats and the Badgers will play in the first game of the tournament. In Thursday's other quarterfinal round contests, second-seeded Ohio State will take on No. 7 Michigan while fourth-seeded Penn State will face host Michigan State, the No. 5 seed.
Top-seeded Indiana earned an opening-round bye and will challenge the winner of the Penn State/Michigan State match. If Northwestern wins its first match, it will take on either Ohio State or Michigan in Friday's semifinal round. The championship game is slated for Sunday.
The two semifinal round games will be carried live by the Big Ten Network, while Sunday's final will be shown live on CSTV.
NU rolled past Wisconsin 3-0 during their regular season meeting Oct. 6 in Evanston.
