Samanatha Murray Advances to Second Round of Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Samantha Murray (Altrincham, England/Altrincham Grammar) downed Nadia Abdala of Arizona State on Thursday at the ITA National Indoor Championships to move on to the second round against Kristi Miller of Georgia Tech, in Columbus, Ohio.
Murray was one of three Wildcats to qualify for the tournament and won her first match 6-4, 7-5. Georgia Rose (Mettawa, Ill./North Shore Country Day) fell to Aurelija Miseviciute of Arkansas, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, while freshman Maria Mosolova (Moscow, Russia) dropped her match to Melanie Gloria of Fresno State, 6-1, 7-6(0).
Friday, Rose and Mosolova continue on in the consolation draw, taking on Gantcheva of UNLV and Zalameda of UCLA, respectively.
