EVANSTON, Ill. -
Senior David Roth and sophomore Mark Blades were each named to the all-tournament team for Northwestern following the completion of the 2007 Big Ten Men's Soccer Championship.
The duo combined for all three goals the Wildcats scored in their opening round 3-1 win over Wisconsin Thursday in East Lansing, Mich. Roth scored the first goal of the game just over a minute into the contest to give NU the early advantage. After leaving the game due to injury a couple of minutes later, he came back in the second half to break a 1-1 tie. Blades assisted on the second Roth goal and then tallied an insurance goal of his own to lead Northwestern to the victory.
Northwestern (12-4-3) will learn its postseason fate when the NCAA tournament selections are announced next Monday, Nov. 19.
