Wildcats Take on Field at Ann Rhodes Intercollegiate

EVANSTON, Ill.--Northwestern returns to action this weekend, taking part for the first time in the UA-Ann Rhodes Intercollegiate Invitational, being held at the NorthRiver Golf Course in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The tournament gets underway Friday, Oct. 26 and runs through Sunday.
Alongside Northwestern in this year's 18-team UA-Ann Rhodes Intercollegiate are: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, UCF, Florida, Florida State, Furman, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Samford, South Carolina and Texas. The field is loaded with outstanding teams as 12 schools are ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin top-50, and three in the top-10.
In Northwestern's previous two outings, the 'Cats have placed fifth and ninth, respectively. Leading the way for the Wildcats has been Jennifer Hong (Windermere, Fla./The First Academy), who has delivered NU's lowest scores in both fall tournaments.
Teams hit the course at 8 a.m. Friday to begin the 54-hole tournament on the par-71, 5,963-yard course. This is the fourth year the tournament has been held. Florida State (2003), Tulane (2004) and Alabama (2005) are previous tournament champions.
