Another Familiar Face
When the 'Cats took on Morehead State on 9/8, the Wildcats welcomed Eagles' head coach Erin Aubrey, a three year letterwinner, back to Evanston. This week, the Wildcats will welcome former head coach Marcia McDermott back to Northwestern. McDermott coached at NU from the program's inception in 1994 through 2000. She led the 'Cats to two NCAA tournament appearances, including a quarterfinals appearance in 1998. After NU, McDermott became the head coach for the Carolina Courage of the WUSA soccer league. She has coached every memeber of NU's coaching staff. Stephanie Erickson, Erin Ekeberg and Brooke Bean played for her as members of the Wildcats. McDermott coached Danielle Slaton when she played for the Carolina Courage.
