The Wildcats shut down a potent Missouri offense for most of the second half. Northwestern made several advances into the offensive zone and forced 18 total Missouri fouls. The Tigers also received two yellow cards. Alicia Herczeg, a freshman who has started all three games for the 'Cats, recorded a shot and created several opportunities on offense.
"I am very proud of how we fought till the end," head coach Stephanie Erickson said. "To be down like that and still be trying to get a goal late in the game shows a lot of character and heart. We need that."
