Northwestern Names Captains for 2006-07

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has elected juniors Jessie Bailis (Omaha, Neb./Millard North), Beth Campbell (Burr Ridge, Ill./Fenwick) and Carrera Harris (Shafter, Calif./Shafter) as its captains for the 2006-07 season.
"I am thrilled to announce Jessie, Carrera and Beth as our co-captains for next year," head coach Jimmy Tierney said. "All three bring a great love for this team and Northwestern University that will help unite our team and motivate us to even greater competitive success in the coming years. We have such a strong group of committed athletes returning that I expect contributions to team leadership will come from many different team members. We are really looking forward to an exciting year."
Northwestern had three All-Big Ten selections last season and had two Wildcats earn All-America honors for the second-consecutive year. Despite graduating a strong core of seniors from that team, all of NU's All-Big Ten and All-America performers return for 2006-07.
