EVANSTON, Ill.-- Northwestern head lacrosse coach Kelly Amonte Hiller has been named this week's US Lacrosse Women's Coach of the Week after the Wildcats picked up two wins over No. 5 North Carolina and No. 8 Johns Hopkins over the weekend. Northwestern defeated both teams by a combined score of 35-15 and moved into first place in the ALC standings with a 3-0 mark.

The Wildcats improved to 13-1 overall and extended their home winning streak to 16 games in the process, defeating UNC 18-10 on Friday and Johns Hopkins 17-5 yesterday afternoon. The Wildcats are an impressive 47-2 in their last 49 regular season games. They return to action at 6 p.m. CT Friday at Ohio State before returning home to host Denver at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday.

After having their 31-game win streak snapped just over two weeks ago at Duke, Amonte Hiller has rejuvenated her team since-outscoring Penn State, UNC and Johns Hopkins 54-24 in those three games.

Jim Nagle of Colgate was the recipient on the men's side. Both he and Amonte Hiller will be recognized for this honor on an upcoming CSTV lacrosse broadcast.

US Lacrosse and CSTV are in the third year of a partnership to help bring college lacrosse to fans around the nation. CSTV has a 26-game schedule of men's and women's lacrosse this season, including five NCAA championship games.
