EVANSTON, Ill. -- Sophomore freestyler Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) and freshman diver Chelsea Davis (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) will compete in five events Thursday through Saturday, March 16-18, as the Wildcats' representatives at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga.

Hupman, an honorable mention All-American last season in the 100 free, will swim the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. Davis is slated to dive in the 1- and 3-meter events.

Hupman enters the weekend as the 12th seed in the 100 free, the 13th seed in the 200 free and the 28th in the 50 free. She captured silver medals in both the 100 and 200 free events at the Big Ten Championships.

Last year at the NCAA Championships, Hupman qualified ninth during the 100 free prelims, missing the championship heat by only .06 seconds and the Northwestern school record by just .02 seconds. She finished the event in 14th position. In the 200 free, she was 18th after the prelims, just .15 seconds away from a second All-America honor in her freshman season.

Davis enters the weekend hoping to follow in Hupman's footsteps as a freshman All-American. She already is blazing her own path as a Northwestern diver, earning the Wildcats' first-ever Big Ten diving title this year on the 3-meter board. Davis also is the first Wildcat diver to advance to the NCAA Championships.

A three-time Big Ten Diver of the Week who already holds the school records in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, Davis took seventh on the 1-meter board and 10th on the 3-meter board at the NCAA Zone C competition in Columbus, Ohio, last weekend to earn one of 11 tickets to the NCAA Championships from Zone C.
