EVANSTON, Ill.-- Junior All-American Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) started the season with a three-goal, three-assist performance against ninth-ranked Maryland on Feb. 13 and in the process earned American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week honors.

The Wildcats roared back from a 4-0 deficit with a 7-0 run to close the half, with Kjellman scoring twice and adding an assist in the run. The junior led all players with six draw controls in the game.

Kjellman's three goals moved her up from sixth place into a tie for third on NU's all-time goals list with 115 and in the process, helped head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller to her 50th career win.

The Wildcats hit the road once again this weekend with games Friday at Hofstra and Sunday at Rutgers. They open up at home next weekend at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4 against Ohio. The game will be played on the FieldTurf practice field located next to Welsh-Ryan Arena.
