Northwestern Finishes Ninth Among Universities at U.S. Open

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Northwestern finished ninth among Universities at the 2006 U.S. Open, with freshman Emily Wong (Nepean, Ontario/St. Joseph's) earning her second finals swim of the meet during Saturday's action.
The Wildcats totalled 27 points as a team at the event, tying Indiana for ninth.
Wong qualified in 23rd in the 100-meter free with a time of 58.51, earning a second swim in the C-final. She did not participate in the finals, however.
Also competing Saturday was sophomore Hayley Fry (Marian, Iowa/Linn-Mar) in the 200 breast and freshman Rachel Rys (Goleta, Calif./Dos Pueblos) in the 200 fly. Neither qualified for a finals swim.
