
'Cats Compete at Big Ten Cross Country Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Northwestern ran at the Big Ten Championships hosted by Indiana University Sunday. Sophomore Allison King (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) posted the best time for the 'Cats at 22:50 and finished 57th. The Wildcats placed 11th overall.
Sophomore Hilary Forman (Prairie Village, Kan./Pembroke), one of the 'Cats' most consistent performers in 2006, finished in 69th with a time of 23:18. Another sophomore, Carly Brown (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead), was third for Northwestern in 79th with a time of 23:49.
Freshman Britta Helwig (Chicago, Ill./Luther North), junior Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) and freshman Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) placed 84th-86th. Diana Burk (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac), Marie Grabinski (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and Mallory O'Niel (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Wylie E. Groves) rounded out the Wildcat runners.
Michigan junior Erin Webster took the individual title and the Wolverines captured their fifth-straight team title.
The Wildcats return to action Sat., Nov. 11 at the NCAA Midwest Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota.
