EVANSTON, Ill. - During the past four years, Northwestern head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller has proven herself to be quite a coach. More recently, at the IFWLA World Cup in Annapolis, Md., she showed that she can still get it done on the field, too.

Amonte Hiller started all eight U.S. games at the Cup and was one of four United States players to earn a spot on the All-World Team after scoring 18 points. The U.S. was looking to win its fourth straight World Cup title -- Amonte Hiller was a member of the 1997 and 2001 championship teams -- but lost in the final to Australia, 14-7, after going unbeaten to that point.

"It is an honor to be named to the All-World Team," said Amonte Hiller. "I look at the other names on the list, and to be mentioned with them is certainly rewarding. However, it was disappointing that we were unable to win the World Cup -- this event is about the team, and not the individual. We were not able to finish what we set out to accomplish, and that was what I cared about most."

The event ran from June 23-July 2 at the United States Naval Academy; coincidentally, the U.S. played its last four games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, where Amonte Hiller's Northwestern squad won its NCAA title on May 22.

In addition to scoring 10 goals and dishing off eight assists, Amonte Hiller led the U.S. team with 17 ground balls and 23 draw controls.
