NU Offers Fencing Clinics, Camps This Summer

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's summer fencing programs teach fencing fundamentals in a fun atmosphere. The programs are for people of all ages who would like to try the sport, and for experienced fencers who would like to improve their skills. High school fencers are encouraged to train here during the summer.

A typical session includes a warm-up, stretching, footwork, light conditioning and one-on-one lessons. Coaches include Northwestern University head fencing coach Laurie Schiller, assistant coach Ed Kaihatsu, camps/clinics coach Rob Lichten and others.
There will be a four-night camp from June 20-23 (7-9 p.m. each night), and clinics will be held every Wednesday night from June 29-August 17 (6:30-8 p.m. each night). The programs are held in Evanston at Patten Gym (2407 Sheridan Road). Fencing equipment will be provided, if needed.
