EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern head coach Tim Lenahan has announced the addition of two to the Wildcats' incoming class of 2009. Chris Kammo (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) and Carl Pett (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook South) have accepted offers of admission to the University and will matriculate to Evanston in the fall.

With the addition of Kammo and Pett, Northwestern's incoming class grows to seven student-athletes.

Kammo was an all-state selection as a senior and was named Player of the Year by the Naperville Sun. He led his high school to the Illinois State Class AA State Championship, assisting on the game-winning goal.

"Chris has a knack for making big plays and has really developed in the last year," Lenahan said. "In watching him play, he really makes an impact on every game. He attended our camp each of the last two years. He has a great personality to go with his ability and plays very well with his back to goal."

Pett also was an all-state selection as a senior, and led his school to three-straight conference championships. An all-around athlete, Pett also played varsity volleyball.

"I think Carl is one of the real sleepers in the state of Illinois," Lenahan said. "Because he plays volleyball in the spring, he did not play for the top club teams during the recruiting process and slipped under the radar. He has great instincts for the game and a great work ethic to match. He attended our camp last year and I believe he could turn out to be one of the better players from this class."
