EVANSTON, Ill. - To honor her senior class -- the first she recruited when she took over the revived Northwestern women's lacrosse program -- NU head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller started 12 of the 13 in Sunday's game against Davidson. The 13th, goalkeeper Meredith Philipp, took over for her cage classmate, Ashley Gersuk, at halftime.

However, it was when the underclassmen came in that the fireworks took place for the top-ranked team in the nation.

Junior Lindsey Munday scored three goals and added six assists, while sophomore Kristen Kjellman had a goal and six assists as well, leading the NU Wildcats over the Davidson Wildcats, 20-3.

The win allowed NU to stay unbeaten at 14-0 (3-0 ALC), while Davidson fell to 4-10 (0-6 ALC). This was Davidson's last game in the American Lacrosse Conference; the Wildcats are dropping out after this season.

Amonte Hiller gradually worked her regulars into the rotation Sunday, but Kjellman and Sarah Albrecht wasted no time getting things going when they entered the game. The first time Kjellman touched it, she fed Albrecht who finished the pass for NU's first goal.

At that point, Amonte Hiller put in Laura Glassanos and Aly Josephs. The 'Cats never looked back.

Glassanos finished a feed from Abby Alley at the 6:51 mark of the first half, before Davidson cut the two-goal deficit in half when Millie McKeachie converted a free-position attempt.

Northwestern scored the game's next 11 goals, effectively ending the contest.

Josephs scored an unassisted goal just 34 seconds after McKeachie's tally to start the run, and the main guns were prominently on display -- Munday had two goals and five assists, Glassanos had three goals, and Kjellman had three assists. Courtney Flynn also scored twice during the streak.

Davidson finally got back on the board when Lindsay Frank finished a feed from Whitney Diefendorf, but Northwestern came back with the final two goals of the half from Lindsay Finocchiaro and Josephs.

The second half was a chance for the bench players to get plenty of minutes, as NU outscored Davidson 5-1 in the stanza.

NU is on the road for its next two games, beginning next Friday when the Wildcats are at Johns Hopkins for an ALC game.
