Ten Wildcats Named Academic All-Big Ten

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's field hockey team has placed 10 student-athletes on the 2005 fall Academic All-Big Ten team, the conference announced Tuesday. With 10 student-athletes earning the honor, the Wildcats are tied for the second-most award winners among conference field hockey teams.
Elisabeth de Roziere, Katie Charles, Christina Foley, Sherri-Anne Nyberg, Holly Palin, Lauren Przyborowski, Ellen Schlafly, Megan Sieberg, Meghan Small and Noreen Stewart were this year's field hockey Academic All-Big Ten honorees.
Northwestern earned 56 Academic All-Big Ten accolades from six fall sports. With 10 award winners, NU's field hockey team ranks second among NU fall sports.
To earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition, an athlete must be in his/her second year at the institution, letter in his/her sport, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
For seniors Palin and Schlafly, this is their third-consecutive Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Foley, Nyberg, Przyborowski, Sieberg and Small all are earning the honor for the second-straight year, while this is the first award for Charles, de Roziere and Stewart.
