PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- With Penn State's 4-3 overtime victory against Indiana Friday, the Nittany Lions captured the Big Ten regular-season field hockey crown and clinched a top seed in the 2005 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Nov. 4-6, in Iowa City, Iowa.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Big Ten released the bracket for this year's tournament. Penn State earned a first-round bye with their No. 1 seed.

Northwestern plays in the first match of the tournament, a 10 a.m. matchup with No. 2 seed Indiana on Friday, Nov. 4. Indiana topped the 'Cats in their regular-season match, 3-1.

Friday's second match, at 12:30 p.m., pits fourth-seeded Michigan against host Iowa. Day one wraps up with third-seeded Ohio State taking on No. 6 Michigan State at 3 p.m.
