WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Northwestern ended regular-season play with a 7-0 loss to No. 1 Wake Forest Saturday. Big Ten saves-leader Sherri-Anne Nyberg (Kelowna, British Columbia/Kelowna Secondary) tallied nine saves in the match, while freshman keeper Emily Kyle (San Francisco, Calif./San Francisco University High School) had seven stops.

Wake Forest's offense displayed its ability to score quickly, netting the match's first goal 38 seconds into the match. The Demon Deacons tallied 26 first-half shots and took a 6-0 lead into the break.

Northwestern kept Wake Forest to 11 shots in the second half, but the Demon Deacons added a goal in the 38th minute, and walked away with the 7-0 win.

Northwestern looks to take the experience of playing the nation's two top teams with them into the Big Ten Tournament, which starts Friday, Nov. 4.
