Former Wildcat McMahon Named Head Coach at Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. - Former Northwestern lacrosse standout Angela McMahon has been named women's lacrosse coach at Bentley College, Athletic Director Bob DeFelice announced.
A native of Weston, McMahon, 23, becomes just the third coach in the program's history and inherits a team that graduated just three players from last season.
McMahon transferred to Northwestern for the program's inaugural varsity season in 2002 after a year at UMass-Amherst where she tallied 12 goals and five assists as a freshman. She had an immediate impact following her transfer to Northwestern, finishing second on the team with 24 goals, 11 assists and 35 points.
McMahon finished her career at Northwestern ninth on the all-time list with 23 assists and 13th all-time in goals with 44. A two-year captain for the Wildcats, she played in every game during her three seasons at Northwestern. She excelled in the classroom as well as on the field, earning an Academic All-Big Ten Award and the Northwestern University Scholastic Achievement Award in 2004.
A 2000 graduate of Weston High School, McMahon was a three-sport standout for the Wildcats, competing in soccer and basketball in addition to lacrosse. A captain of both the basketball and lacrosse teams her senior year, Angela was a Dual County League All-Star in all three sports. Her achievements in all three sports led the MetroWest Daily News to name her its Female Athlete of the Year in 2000.
In addition to her Bentley duties, McMahon is an Account Services Representative with Reebok. Her other experience includes an internship with the Boston Cannons and work as a counselor for Metro Lacrosse.
McMahon is a 2004 graduate of Northwestern with a degree in communication studies.
