Annunziato Qualifies for Junior Olympics

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern freshman Gina Annunziato (Bernardsville, N.J. (Bernards) successfully qualified for the Junior Olympics Saturday at Patten Gym by finishing first in the women's sabre, under-20 age group.

Her first-place finish came out of a 10-fencer field in the sabre competition. Three of those ten (Annunziato included) qualified.

Fellow freshmen Gabrielle Aiuto (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck North) and Rachel Kuck finished eighth and 14th in the women's epee competition, failing to qualify.
